Profile Characterization of Building Information Modeling Users

Nowadays, BIM (Building Information Modeling) has steadily been introduced into the construction industry as a promising methodology for managing projects. Therefore, it is necessary to study users of its processes. Worldwide, there are already systems that classify companies according how they use BIM, although only few studies have conducted on individual classified. Hence, present sought develop model characterized based several parameters. The employed defined variables literature review, which experts subsequently validated. These made possible measurement instrument: structured questionnaire applied professionals. parameters user characterization were extracted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. This met structural evaluation and criteria, confirmed was valid reliable. It found three main aspects mainly users: (i) their command software methodology, (ii) experience degree adoption technology, (iii) individual’s knowledge process levels standardization concerning BIM.
